1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our community hub, participating in SageHook events, or registering for a membership, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. This membership agreement governs your relationship with our club. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, we kindly ask that you do not use our services.
2. Membership (Eligibility, Fees, Termination)
SageHook is open to recreational anglers who are at least 18 years of age. Membership fees are processed on a recurring basis as outlined in your chosen plan. You may terminate your membership at any time via the member portal, though previously paid fees are non-refundable to ensure the stability of our community events and conservation efforts.
A Community Built on Respect
"Being part of SageHook isn’t just about the catch; it’s about the people and the environment we share. These rules keep the spirit of the sport alive for everyone."
3. Code of Conduct (Respect, Safety, Conservation)
Our community guidelines are rooted in mutual respect. All members must:
- Practice sustainable catch-and-release where required by local New York regulations.
- Respect the "quiet hours" and local residents near our shared fishing spots in Juniper Valley and beyond.
- Never leave behind fishing line, hooks, or litter—leave the water cleaner than you found it.
- Harassment, bullying, or exclusionary behavior towards other anglers will result in immediate membership revocation.
4. Event Participation & Liability Waiver
Fishing involves inherent risks, including but not limited to weather changes, water hazards, and equipment use. By participating in any SageHook event, you acknowledge these risks and agree to waive SageHook of any liability for personal injury or property damage. Safety is our priority; always follow the instructions of the event lead.
5. User Content (Forum posts, photos)
When you share photos of your trophy catch or post advice in our community hub, you grant SageHook a non-exclusive license to use that content for community promotion. You represent that you own all rights to the content you post and that it adheres to our community standards.
6. Dispute Resolution
In the rare event of a disagreement, both parties agree to attempt resolution through informal negotiation first. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be settled in the small claims courts of New York City, ensuring a fair and local process for our Queens-based organization.
